PROMISE #10

All the covenants we are examining had the same result and that was to make the receiver strong in the Lord.

In 1 Samuel 18:3 we read,

"Then Jonathan and David made a covenant because he loved him as his own soul."

In 1 Samuel 20:16 we read,

"So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David."

In 1 Samuel 20:42 we read,

"And Jonathan said to David, ‘Go in peace, since we have both sworn in the name of the Lord…'"

In 1 Samuel 23:18, we read,

"And they two made a covenant before the LORD. And David stayed in the woods and Jonathan went to his own house."

The covenants required a seeker after the other’s good.

In giving you this David and Jonathan Covenant Award we are saying we will seek your good. We do not intend to make a baby out of you but rather one who is strong in the Lord. God is on your side.
