"I will never change my mind"

(1 Samuel 18:3)
"Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul."

Biblical covenants were not entered into lightly. They were serious matters. They were enduring.

Today we have few agreements that are lasting; even the marriage covenant often is not taken seriously. The covenants in the Bible were considered as being forever. God, Jesus Christ, and Jonathan never changed their minds. They never broke their covenant.

In 1 John 5:11-13 we read:

"And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son."

God’s covenant to those who believe and receive Christ is eternal.
