God is the King who prepares a wedding banquet for His Son, Jesus. He sends out invitations initially to the people of Israel but for the most part they refuse to accept this invitation. So He broadens the scope of the invitation to include even the Gentiles.

There is, however, one requirement: wedding guests must come wearing wedding clothes. This refers to clothes of righteousness which Christ provides to those who believe and receive Him (see Isaiah 61:10, Revelation 3:4-5 and 19:7-8).

Many are invited to God’s great banquet but not everyone responds.

So, have you answered God’s invitation by accepting the righteousness of Christ on your behalf?
