The Program
How this program works
Anyone can enroll in the program free of charge and begin working on a Bible-related correspondence lesson suited to their age level. These lessons are in printed form and sent through the mail. And most lessons are also available through the Internet in the online lessons section of our site (see our home page or use the navigation menu bar above).
D&J students demonstrate a good understanding of the content of each lesson by successfully completing a set of questions about that lesson and submitting the answers to a David & Jonathan office (or in the case of our online lessons, directly via the Internet).
A free book is sent after 7 completed lessons, and additional books are sent about every third mailing from this point on. Students may complete book reading assignments related to these books for additional points (required in order to receive additional books).
For each lesson completed they earn 100 points. For each book read they receive 200 points. As their points accumulate they earn special awards at each 500 point level — beautiful certificates, cards providing subsidies to Bible camps, youth retreat certificates, scholarships for Bible college, and study Bibles.
All of the awards carry a very important message about the theme of David and Jonathan in the Bible, what it teaches us about them, and how that instruction applies to our lives.
Once the student has earned 5000 points and is at least 15 years old, he or she is eligible to attend the first of a series of free weekend youth retreats sponsored by several participating Bible colleges.
At the 12,000 point level a $100.00 scholarship is provided when the student enrolls in a Bible college of his or her choice. Several Bible colleges in Canada are matching our $100 award with a scholarship of their own, making this award even more valuable.
Please note that some of the D&J award system is not available in areas beyond our existing regional centers (currently Canada and Texas). However, all the award certificates are available to online lesson users.
