Adam and Eve in their garden home

This lesson is based on the Scripture found in

Genesis 2:8-10, 18-22

The beautiful world was now ready, but it waited for someone to live in it. The Heavenly Father had given it all its beauty. He had caused grass to grow for the cattle, and plants for the service of man.

The beautiful world God created, with animals, birds and fish.

Next God created the living creatures. Animals crept on the ground, insects fluttered among the flowers, and birds flew in the air. Furry animals found their homes in caves in the rocks, or among the branches of the trees. Fish swam in the sea and in the rivers.

God makes AdamLast of all came man. The Bible tells us that God formed or made man in His image or likeness. Man was formed from the dust of the ground and then it was God who actually breathed the breath of life into man and he then became a living soul.

God planted a garden which was called Eden and it was there that He placed the man that He had formed. God caused beautiful trees to grow, including the tree of knowledge of good and evil. This man that God formed was named Adam.

God placed Adam in the beautiful garden of Eden and told him to take care of it. God also gave Adam one rule and that was that he could eat of any tree in the garden except the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God promised that in the day that Adam would eat of that tree, he would surely die.

Eve becomes Adam's helper in the Garden. Then God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." So God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep and he took one of Adam's ribs and used it to make a woman. This first woman was named, "Eve." Now Adam would have a helper in the garden of Eden, which God created.

God comes into the Garden and talks and walks with Adam and Eve.It was a wonderful time in the beautiful garden because God's word, the Bible, tells us that God came and talked and walked with Adam and Eve. God who had made them, helped them to learn about Himself.

Adam and Eve had the most beautiful place to live in but even more important than that was the close friendship they had with God.

Family prayingWe can have a close friendship with God as well. We can talk to God through prayer and we "walk with God" by reading and doing what the Bible says. By reading and doing these lessons you can develop a closer relationship with God.

Adam and Eve didn't always do what God wanted them to do. Neither do we, but we can come to God and ask Him for forgiveness of our sins, which are the wrong things we have done. He will forgive us.
